The Wulang Shen (Five Men Gods), also known as Wutong Shen, are evil spirits and wealth gods from the Jiangnan region of China.[i] There were many tales of human men and women being haunted by one or more of these spirits.  

Feng Menglong’s 17th century compilation, The History of Passion, contains two anecdotes of the Wulang Shen (Five Men Gods) in Volume 22[ii]:
