“The Virtuous Transgender Mother Relocates Her Child Thrice for His Education” is the sixth short story in late Ming/early Qing writer 李渔 Li Yu’s 《无声戏》Wushengxi collection.[i] You might have already come across a brief synopsis of the later part of You Ruiniang’s story in 2 stories of transgender mothers who protected children from cisgender predators, but there is much more to the tale of You Ruiniang.
